RWS Holdings buys Communicare

RWS Holdings Plc (RWS), an international provider of intellectual property support services, has acquired Communicare, which focuses on translations for the medical and pharmaceutical industries, for £2.1 million in cash. The deal is in keeping with RWS’s strategy to complement organic growth with targeted acquisitions.

Law firm Olswang advised the buyers in the transaction. Corporate partners Amy Collins and Edd Heaton led the team, with assistance from Stephen Hignett and Wendy Patrick in tax, Chris Weaver in employment and Victoria Campbell in commercial. Collins commented, “The Olswang team has been delighted to assist RWS with another strategically important acquisition and to build on our valued relationship with them.”

Accountancy firm BDO Stoy Hayward LLP provided tax due diligence and advisory services for their existing client.  The team was led by tax partner Jonathan Hickman, who was assisted by Kam Sanghera and Rachel McGlaulin.
