McAfee has acquired the mobile device security company Trust Digital.
Technology firm McAfee has acquired the mobile device security company Trust Digital.
With offices in the US and UK, Trust Digital produces management and security software for mobile devices and has partnerships with companies including Apple, Microsoft and Blackberry.
The acquisition, which was for an undisclosed amount, is expected to close by the end of June.
California-based McAfee produces online security software such as firewalls and anti-virus software for home users, businesses, the public sector and service providers.
The acquisition gives McAfee access to the iPhone OS, Android, Web OS, Windows Mobile, and Symbian markets.
Dave DeWalt, president and chief executive officer at McAfee, says: ‘Through this acquisition, we believe McAfee can expand its reach into new markets, secure new platforms and strengthen its leadership position.’
