  • Safran, an international high technology group focused on aerospace propulsion, aircraft equipment and defence security, has acquired an 81 per cent stake in GE Homeland Protection, a wholly owned affiliate of General Electric and a major supplier of baggage screening systems to airports, for $580 million (£398 million).
  • IT and technology recruitment firm InterQuest Group has entered into a “joint venture” with Lanborne Consulting, an IT sales recruitment business based in Slough.
  • Real Office Group, a quoted investment vehicle set up to acquire office fit-out businesses globally, has bought Pacific Interiors, ISIS Projects and a 49 per cent stake in Pacific Middle East (PME) for up to £48.9 million.
  • Avisen, a London-based performance management specialist, has acquired rival Eon Enterprise, and Eon’s wholly owned subsidiary Infocube for £585,000. Eon has no trading activity and its sole function is to act as Infocube’s holding company.
  • Ultimate Products, an Oldham-based supplier of houseware and electrical goods, has acquired Manchester-based iPod supplier Intempo. The size of the deal was not disclosed.
