Baby Bundle enters UK market with $1.8m seed round and Mumsnet partnership

British founders Nick and Anthony Von Christierson launched the app in the US and are now bringing it back to a British audience.

Parenting app Baby Bundle is coming to the UK following a successful $1.8m angel-led seed round and an exclusive partnership with Mumsnet.

Despite both founders, brothers Nick and Anthony Von Christierson, hailing from the UK, the app was first launched in the US and Canada in April 2014. It’s enjoyed an impressive run of success since then; having featured on Apple’s Editor’s Choice platform.

Developed in collaboration with medical experts, the platform is aimed at helping parents track and record their child’s development and growth, alongside parenting resources, all accessed on one mobile toolkit.

Baby Bundle is suitable for parents of 0-2 year olds, providing pre-to-post natal support to the 1.4 million new parents every year in the UK.

The success in North America has attracted investment on this side of the Atlantic via a group of prominent business angels from the UK, US and Asia. They include Jonnie Goodwin, founder of Lepe Partners and co-founder of Founders Forum.

Goodwin said that, with 1.4m new parents in the UK every year, “the early-stage parenting market has great potential”.

“What’s more, there are real opportunities for mobile technology to support and benefit new millennial parents,” he said. “Baby Bundle’s success in the US has been impressive, as are Nick and Anthony’s ambitions for growth over the coming months.”

Nick von Christierson, CEO and Baby Bundle co-founder, added that when the app was launched in the US last year “we could never have predicted the fantastic reaction from parents”.

“Now we’re thrilled to be working with Mumsnet, the market leader in the UK parenting space, to bring Baby Bundle to a brand new market. We’ll be sharing more details about the partnership in due course,” he continued.
