Cold storage and distribution company Yearsley Group has acquired the complementary business Ice Pak Seafood Specialists.

The vendors, Tony and Alan Cantrill, were advised by accountancy firm Mazars and represented by Leeds-based law firm Clarion on the sale, which was for an undisclosed sum.

Established in 1983, Leeds-based Ice Pak provides cold storage and distribution services to food wholesalers in the retail and catering sectors. The company has a turnover of around £32 million and has cold storage facilities at its sites in Leeds and Manchester. Ice Pak also provides frozen foods under the brands Sea Katch, Coral Bay, Sea Gem and Lucky Red.

Manchester-based Yearsley operates a network of 12 cold storage facilities across the UK and has a fleet of around 300 temperature-controlled vehicles.
