Tribal Group has sold its architecture subsidiary Nightingale Associates to IBI Group for £13.1 million.
London-based architects Nightingale was founded in 1989 and employs 250 people. Its commissions include the £350 million University Hospital in Coventry and the Golden Jubilee Wing of Kings Hospital in London.
Canadian architecture company IBI has a global distribution of offices and around 26 associated architect, design and engineering firms within the IBI Group. Established in 1974, it also has three offices in the UK.
Public sector services provider Tribal was advised on the sale of its non-core subsidiary by Catalyst Corporate Finance.
Steve Currie, the director at Catalyst who led the deal, commented that the choice of IBI as a buyer was seen as the best option for Nightingale because of its access to the North American markets.
