  • A Japanese consortium comprising Itochu Corporation, Sumitomo Chemical Co and Toyo Ink Europe has bolstered its chemical operations with the purchase of AK&N for an undisclosed sum
  • Cork-based Ronan Daly Jermyn has strengthened its legal firm with the purchase of Galway-based William B Glynn for €3 million (£2.05 million)
  • Confectionary and snack foods group Glisten has added to its operations with the purchase of Dormen Foods for £7.45 million
  • Hotel, leisure and business management firm Prem Group has bought nine hotels for €65 million (£44.3 million) in Belgium and France
  • Pure Telecom has boosted its telecommunications services with the purchase of fellow Irish firm NewTel Communications for a seven-figure sum
  • The Mission Marketing Group has added to its operations after buying Story for up to £13.1 million
  • Web development firms SitesToGo and InternetLAB have merged to form SitesToGo InternetLAB. The terms of the deal were undisclosed

  • Ragusa Capital, an investor in the fossil fuel market, is to acquire 50% of Argentina-based oil and gas exploration and energy provider SODEMSA, for $72.5 million (£35.6 million)
  • Concateno, an investor in the drug and alcohol testing sector, is set to acquire Cozart, a medical diagnostics company specialising in drug abuse detection, for £64 million
  • Information specialist Electric World is to buy educational magazine publisher Special Education Publishing for £875,000
