The designers at Bouf, based at London’s Borough Market, have spent two years researching sleep habits and problems, and Lomme is the result: a rejuvenation environment – don’t say “bed” – in which light, sound and massage combine to sweep the user away to the Land of Nod.

You can choose the strength and colour of the internal light with a colour wheel, and an iPod has been ‘invisibly installed’ so you can listen to your favourite lullabies. The Lomme
mattress offers a choice of massage options, and there’s even a system to block electromagnetic waves and radiation.

And yes, there is room for two people in there, though arguing over the iPhone – which controls all Lomme’s functions – could cause some tension.
