Montagu Private Equity has completed a €2.5 billion fundraising for European investment.
Its fourth fund, Montagu IV, has attracted a broad mix of investors, according to the European mid-market private equity company, including increased commitments from pension funds, insurance companies and sovereign wealth funds across the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Montagu reveals that demand for the fund was above the €2.5 billion target.
The investor’s focus is on management buyout transactions of companies that operate in stable niche markets with a transaction value ranging from €100 million to €1 billion.
Montagu has around €4 billion of funds and assets under management.
