Plumbee has completed its maiden funding round as well as launching its first Facebook game.
Social casino gaming company Plumbee has secured $2.8 million (£1.8 million) of new funding from Paris-based Idinvest Partners.
The business, which was founded by former executives of social gaming business EA Playfish, has also launched its first Facebook game.
East London-based Plumbee was started by past EA Playfish employees Raf Keustermans, Gerald Tan and Jodi Moran.
Keustermans comments, ‘I am thrilled to be working with a myriad of talented and passionate experts. With a world class team and the backing of numerous solid partners, I am convinced that Plumbee is in a great position to gun for a leadership position in the social casino arena.’
Venture capital backers Idinvest Partners was part of Allianz until 2010, when it became independent with the backing of IDI Group. The firm is already active in the online gaming sector through investments in Kobojo, Pretty Simple and Grand Cru.
Guillaume Lautour, partner at Idinvest, adds, ‘We are strong believers in social games and specifically the remarkable growth in the social casino vertical has caught our attention.
‘We’re very excited to back the Plumbee team, with its extensive experience and proven track record in both social games and online gambling.’
