The Bank of England voted today to keep the base interest rate at the record low of 0.5 per cent.
The bank’s Monetary Policy Committee has maintained the official rate, which has been unchanged since March last year, despite improving economic conditions in the UK.
The committee also decided not to extend quantitative easing beyond the £200 billion which has already been injected into the economy.
The minutes of the meeting will be published on Wednesday, November 17.
